Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Survey Technician II to perform field surveying tasks in support of environmental remediation at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco, California. Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, you will establish excavation boundaries, set control points, and document survey data for restoration activities.

You will work with project engineers and surveyors, prepare as-built drawings, verify data, and use AutoCAD and GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Outdoor/field surveying experience for remediation projects.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Knowledge of survey instrumentation and data recording.
• HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Survey excavation boundaries and trench unit limits.
• Establish survey control points and site benchmarks.
• Prepare as-built survey drawings documenting excavation limits.
• Survey RSY pads and soil stockpile locations.
• Verify survey data accuracy and record measurements.
• Coordinate findings with engineers and construction staff.
• Adjust surveying instruments to maintain accuracy.
• Determine longitudes and latitudes with theodolites and GPS.
• Plan ground surveys to establish baselines and elevations.
• Analyze data using AutoCAD and GIS programs.
