Qualifications

• Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects.
• Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Project Review: Examine plans and specifications to identify differences between field conditions and design expectations.
• Site Inspection: Inspect backfilling, grading, seeding, storm-water ditches, and material installations on active reclamation sites.
• Structure Work: Monitor construction of stream channels, wetlands, ponds, drainage structures, and treatment systems.
• Documentation Tasks: Maintain detailed daily records of work completed, equipment used, and contract quantities for payment.
• Borehole Oversight: Observe drilling, sealing, and monitoring of boreholes and record measurements related to subsidence control activities.
• Compliance Monitoring: Inspect erosion and sedimentation controls, enforce corrective actions, and ensure contractor compliance with project requirements.
