Job summary

Penn E&R in the United States is seeking a motivated Civil/Mining Engineer to support mining and land development projects through engineering design, site investigations, regulatory compliance, and reclamation planning. You will work with geologists, environmental scientists, and project managers to deliver safe, cost-effective and environmentally responsible solutions for mining clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining or Civil Engineering required.
• PE license preferred or progress toward licensure.
• Experience in mining operations, mine site design, permitting, or geotechnical work.
• Strong technical writing and analytical skills.
• Experience with project management and field coordination.
• Knowledge of mining regulations, permitting, and reclamation requirements.
• Familiarity with water resources and stormwater management.

Responsibilities

• Develop surface activity site design plans with water management practices.
• Conduct field investigations of geological, geotechnical, and hydrogeological conditions.
• Prepare reports, permit applications, and regulatory submissions.
• Support environmental assessments, remediation, and mine reclamation.
• Analyze site data and advise on mine operations, slope stability, and earthwork design.
• Coordinate with scientists, geologists, surveyors, and designers.
• Manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client communications.
• Ensure compliance with mining and environmental regulations.
• Support health and safety during field and construction activities.
• Assist with proposals and business development.
