Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Bridgeport, West Virginia, seeks an Environmental Project Manager to lead ecological and environmental permitting projects from planning through regulatory approval and completion.

You will manage client relationships, coordinate with regulatory agencies, mentor staff, and help expand ecological services across energy, infrastructure, and public sector markets while supporting long-term compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Environmental Planning, Threatened and Endangered Species Consultation, Environmental Permitting, or Environmental Compliance and Reporting.
• Experience preparing NEPA documents, including CATEX, EA, and EIS.
• Working knowledge of 401, 402, and 404 Federal Clean Water Act regulations.
• Experience developing and managing client relationships across energy, public sector, and real estate markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage ecological and environmental permitting projects from planning through regulatory approval and project completion.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support business development efforts and expand ecological services throughout the region.
• Prepare and oversee environmental permitting strategies, compliance documentation, and regulatory coordination activities.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with civil engineering, water resources, geotechnical, surveying, and environmental professionals.
• Provide technical mentoring to ecological staff.
• Support projects involving NEPA work and environmental assessments.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring high-quality client service.
