Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Staff Project Manager to support and manage environmental consulting projects through field work, analysis, reporting, and coordination. This role develops ownership of tasks, client relationships, budgets, and schedules under senior guidance.

Responsibilities include initiating projects, performing sampling, supervising drill crews, preparing field reports, and coordinating with teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
• 0 years of related experience.
• A professional license is not required for this position, but progressing in your career is encouraged.
• If driving for ECS subsidiaries, a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Initiates project setup and implementation with limited supervision
• Performs groundwater, soil, and media sampling activities
• Supervises drill crews and supports investigation activities under senior oversight
• Evaluates site access and performs boring and test pit layouts
• Documents site observations and prepares field reports
• Identifies changing site conditions and recommends investigation adjustments
• Assists with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance
• Supports underground storage tank assessments
• Communicates site conditions that may impact budgets, scope, or remediation approaches
• Collaborates with project teams on environmental consulting projects
• Attends project meetings and assists with issue resolution
• Develops client relationships through project interactions
• Maintains regular communication with clients and stakeholders
• Assists with project budget management and change orders
• Prepares invoices and supports collection activities
• Schedules, trains, and oversees environmental technicians and staff
• Prioritizes tasks and helps manage workload to meet deadlines
• Develops project management skills through task management
• Assists with proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates
• Prepares environmental reports and develops recommendations with senior staff
• Coordinates field and office activities for project execution
• Supports project setup, implementation, and closeout
• Performs additional technical and project management duties as assigned
