Environmental Project Manager – FERC Natural Gas Projects

Join POWER Engineers as an Environmental Project Manager – FERC Natural Gas Projects. POWER Engineers, a member of WSP's Environmental Division, provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services across various industries. Our team specializes in air, water, waste, environmental planning, ecological, and cultural resources.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams in obtaining FERC authorizations and related permitting for interstate natural gas pipeline infrastructure projects. This full-time, salaried role offers a comprehensive benefits package and the flexibility of remote work.

Roles And Responsibilities

The primary focus is to provide environmental services and strategies related to routing, permitting, and construction support for natural gas facilities regulated by FERC.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Manage multiple projects across different phases and locations, from routing/siting to construction compliance.
  • Lead environmental studies and permit applications, including FERC Section 7, Blanket Project authorizations, and EA/EIS documents.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project permitting.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, presentations, and project capture.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, attorneys, planners, GIS analysts, and environmental specialists.
  • Engage with the public and stakeholders during hearings and meetings.
  • Manage client relationships, project scope, budgets, schedules, and forecasts.
  • Participate in field reviews, compliance inspections, and site meetings.
  • Travel up to 25% for meetings and site visits.
Required Education/Experience
  • B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing environmental licensing and permitting for pipelines.
  • Expertise in FERC regulations under the Natural Gas Act and knowledge of other federal environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications relevant to technical expertise.
