Environmental Project Manager – FERC Natural Gas Projects

Join POWER Engineers as an Environmental Project Manager specializing in FERC Natural Gas Projects. POWER Engineers, a member of WSP, provides comprehensive planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective services across various industries, focusing on environmental and resource management.

Roles and Responsibilities

The main focus of this role is to manage environmental services related to routing, permitting, and construction support for natural gas facilities regulated by FERC. Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing multiple projects across different phases and locations, from routing to construction compliance.
  2. Leading environmental studies and permit applications, including FERC Section 7, Blanket Project authorizations, and EA/EIS documents.
  3. Coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies for permits.
  4. Engaging in business development, proposal writing, and project capture activities.
  5. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, attorneys, GIS analysts, and environmental specialists.
  6. Communicating with the public and stakeholders at hearings and meetings.
  7. Managing client relationships, project scope, budget, and schedule.
  8. Participating in field reviews, compliance inspections, and site meetings.
  9. Traveling up to 25% for meetings and site visits.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing environmental licensing and permitting for pipelines.
  • Expertise in FERC regulations under the Natural Gas Act and knowledge of other federal environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications relevant to technical expertise.
Benefits and Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $125,000 - $165,000 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, paid time off, 401K, telehealth, parental leave, and more. The role is full-time, remote work options available, and involves travel up to 25%.
