What You'll Do

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an Environmental Project Manager I to join our team. This role involves multiple tasks on a project, assigned by the supervisor. Responsibilities will increase with experience, and work will be a mix of field and office tasks. The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive customer service attitude and aligns with ECS Core Values.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Mentor junior staff and support team development.
  2. Attend project meetings, providing solutions to technical and administrative issues.
  3. Interface with clients regularly; maintain and develop a client database.
  4. Manage project budgets, prepare change orders, invoices, and assist with collections.
  5. Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff.
  6. Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, consulting with supervisors as needed.
  7. Manage multiple environmental projects, applying technical support.
  8. Prepare proposals and change orders.
  9. Draft environmental reports, perform analysis, and recommend actions for senior review.
  10. Review deliverables prepared by junior staff.
  11. Host or attend project discussions with clients, follow up on reports.
  12. Set up and implement projects with appropriately trained staff.
  13. Understand sample collection, preservation, and laboratory submission regulations.
  14. Be knowledgeable of environmental regulations and guide projects accordingly.
  15. Review field reports, perform site visits, mentor staff, and communicate milestones.
  16. Coordinate site activities, communicate with field staff and management, and discuss project impacts.
  17. Prepare reports independently for senior review.
  18. Direct fieldwork, sampling, and site restoration, ensuring scope compliance.
  19. Develop site work plans considering client goals and safety.
  20. Assist with remediation systems installation and maintenance.
  21. Manage underground storage tank assessments with licensed personnel following safety protocols.
  22. Support development of staff and technicians.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, or relevant field.
  2. At least 2 years of related experience.
  3. PE or PG license preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of environmental principles, regulations, and test methods.
  • Ability to develop and manage client relationships.
  • Experience managing multiple projects independently.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 pounds and walk on uneven terrain.

The pay range is $60,000 - $80,000/year, based on location and qualifications.
