Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to lead corporate environmental programs across air, water, waste, and permitting. The role integrates regulatory requirements with company policy and operational needs to minimize risk and ensure compliance.

The position is based in Valparaiso, Indiana, with weekly travel to Wheatfield and monthly trips to Southern Indiana facilities. A strong background in environmental policy and program management is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years environmental compliance experience in gas/electric utility.
Knowledge of air, water, waste management, and natural resources requirements.
Experience with MS 365, Maximo, GIS and CIS.
Strong written and oral communication; ability to summarize regulatory impacts.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment and public safety.
Analyze environmental laws and summarize operational impact.
Develop and implement environmental programs, permits, and procedures.
Coordinate with operations, regulatory agencies, and consultants to ensure compliance.
Manage budgets and resources for timely delivery.
