The Environmental Program Manager I will oversee the Lead Accreditation and Oversight Division of the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. This division enforces provisions under The Environment Article Title 6, Subtitle 10, and related regulations including COMAR 26.02.07, 26.16.01-.06, 26.16.01, 26.16.05, and 26.16.06.
The role involves exposure to challenging environments, including field visits at residential and construction sites across the state, often in all weather conditions. The position entails working with hazardous materials such as lead dust and asbestos, requiring physical tasks like lifting over 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and using protective gear during inspections.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 30 credit hours in engineering, biological, environmental, or physical sciences.
Three years of supervisory experience in a professional or project management role.
Substitutions allowed: Additional related experience, registration as an Environmental Sanitarian or Professional Engineer, military service in relevant fields, or additional experience in related fields.
