Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District in Los Angeles County is seeking a Program Manager to plan, organize, and manage an environmental BMP program within the Operations Department.

You will lead BMP staff, set objectives, supervise inspections and field operations, and ensure compliance with environmental laws and internal policies.

The position emphasizes collaboration with federal, state, and local agencies, data collection, reporting, and continuous program improvement.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and supervises the BMP staff, providing daily leadership and training.
• Identifies areas for service and procedural improvements, implements process changes, and refines operations for greater efficiency.
• Monitors staff activities, addressing performance deficiencies, and ensuring alignment with departmental standards, program priorities, and performance goals.
• Reviews and approves timesheets for accuracy, coordinating with finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with policies.
• Conducts inspections of wetlands and environmentally sensitive areas, coordinating with public and regulatory agencies on land and wildlife management and vector source reduction.
• Reviews Environmental Impact Reports and construction plans, assessing vector control compliance for projects with rainwater and stormwater systems.
• Tracks stormwater permit developments and changes to CEQA checklists and MS4 permits, providing recommendations for compliance actions.
