Job summary

The Public Interest Network is seeking an Environment New York Conservation Advocate to protect New York’s environment, wildlife, and water. The role emphasizes policy development, coalition-building, events, and fundraising to support campaigns across multiple New York locations.

You will advocate for clean energy, lead outreach to diverse groups, and manage volunteers and interns while collaborating with partners and decision-makers at various levels.

Qualifications

• Advocate or organizer with relevant experience (2+ years).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to recruit people and work with diverse groups.
• Strategic thinker able to seize opportunities and solve problems.
• Organizational skills and goal orientation are essential.

Responsibilities

• Help shape program priorities through policy development, research, and messaging.
• Build coalitions with organizations and constituent groups across the spectrum.
• Organize webinars, community events, and public meetings to recruit supporters.
• Earn media attention and grow a following on social platforms for campaigns.
• Engage with state, regional, and federal decision-makers to advocate our goals.
• Raise funds through grant proposals and donor relations to support campaigns.
• Identify and recruit strong staff candidates and manage interns.
