Job summary

City of Franklin seeks a Planning/Development Review professional to provide planning and development review services. You will process applications, permits, and monitor zoning compliance, while reviewing site plans, plats, and storm water plans for public and private projects in Franklin.

The role requires independent work under limited supervision, supporting the Director of Community Development, Planning Commission, and City Council through technical reports and enforcement actions.

Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of zoning laws and long-range plans.
Knowledge of erosion and sediment control, storm water management, and floodplain regulations.
Experience with GIS data creation and manipulation.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to read and implement complex environmental and local regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist developers and the public with zoning compliance and planning updates.
Review land use proposals to ensure compliance with ordinances and the Comprehensive Plan.
Conduct field reviews and inspections for compliance with all ordinances and codes.
Maintain documentation for Storm Water Management requirements and enforcement actions.
Prepare planning commission agendas and staff recommendations.
Produce written, oral and visual reports to hearing bodies and committees.
