This full‑time civil service role offers a daytime schedule, potential telework after probation, and a starting salary range of $60,538 to $92,010

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as an Environmental Planner 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years of progressive professional experience in local, regional, or state environmental planning; or
• A Master’s degree in planning or one of the environmental sciences and two years of progressive professional environmental planning experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Environmental Documents: Coordinate preparation and review of categorical exclusions, technical reports, and mitigation plans for projects of varying complexity
• Impact Analysis: Evaluate effects of transportation projects on natural, cultural, recreational, and community resources
• Public Engagement: Participate in meetings, hearings, and displays to support public involvement activities
• Agency Collaboration: Work with resource agencies and the public to strengthen partnerships and support compliance
• Training Development: Develop and deliver environmental training for district design, construction, and maintenance staff
