The role requires 5+ years CEQA/NEPA experience, strong writing skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities. A Master’s degree is preferred and Caltrans/USACE experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing CEQA and/or NEPA documents.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience managing CEQA/NEPA documents or related assignments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CEQA process and California environmental regulation.
  • Strong research, analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Job description

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking a full-time Staff Environmental Planner to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects throughout California while based in our Chico, California office on a hybrid schedule.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to independently prepare environmental planning documents and manage routine to moderately complex assignments while collaborating effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare CEQA and NEPA documents and supporting environmental analyses
  • Manage routine to moderately complex CEQA and NEPA documents
  • Conduct environmental research and regulatory analysis
  • Coordinate with clients, technical specialists, agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Track assigned project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Assist with agency coordination and environmental permitting
  • Prepare proposals and support business development activities
  • Provide technical support and informal mentoring to junior staff, as appropriate
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing CEQA and/or NEPA documents
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience managing CEQA and/or NEPA documents or comparable environmental planning assignments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the CEQA process and California environmental and regulatory setting
  • Strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams
  • NEPA and CEQA-Plus experience is preferred
  • Caltrans and transportation project experience is preferred
  • Resource agency permitting and regulatory coordination experience is preferred
  • Experience with USACE, CDFW, and RWQCB permitting is preferred
  • AICP certification is preferred
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation:

This is a full-time hourly position with a range of $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, annualized at approximately $72,800 to $93,600 per year based on a full-time schedule Starting salary is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications/permits, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.
