Job summary

ECORP Consulting, Inc. in Chico, California is seeking a Staff Environmental Planner for a full-time hybrid role. You will prepare CEQA and NEPA documents across California and support multidisciplinary teams on diverse projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of CEQA/NEPA experience, strong writing and research skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while coordinating with clients and agencies. Advanced degree or AICP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing CEQA and/or NEPA documents
• Minimum of 1 year of experience managing CEQA and/or NEPA documents or comparable environmental planning assignments
• Demonstrated knowledge of the CEQA process and California environmental and regulatory setting
• Strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams
• NEPA and CEQA-Plus experience is preferred
• Caltrans and transportation project experience is preferred
• Resource agency permitting and regulatory coordination experience is preferred
• Experience with USACE, CDFW, and RWQCB permitting is preferred
• AICP certification is preferred
• Master’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CEQA and NEPA documents and supporting environmental analyses
• Manage routine to moderately complex CEQA and NEPA documents
• Conduct environmental research and regulatory analysis
• Coordinate with clients, technical specialists, agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams
• Track assigned project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
• Assist with agency coordination and environmental permitting
• Prepare proposals and support business development activities
• Provide technical support and informal mentoring to junior staff, as appropriate
