Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional CEQA experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing multidisciplinary environmental projects.
• Strong knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, CEQA-Plus, and Caltrans environmental requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects, budgets, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the preparation of CEQA and NEPA environmental documents
• Manage complex, multidisciplinary environmental planning projects
• Coordinate with ECORP biologists, archaeologists, paleontologists, air and noise specialists, environmental planners, and other staff
• Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects
• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, staffing, invoicing, and deliverables
• Provide strategic guidance regarding CEQA, NEPA, and other compliance requirements
• Coordinate with public agencies, consultants, and stakeholders
• Review technical documents for quality and regulatory compliance
• Train and mentor junior staff on CEQA and NEPA processes and project management
• Identify business development opportunities and build client relationships

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner with strong CEQA and NEPA expertise to join our Rocklin, California office.

This senior-level position leads complex environmental planning projects, manages client relationships, oversees multidisciplinary teams, and supports business development throughout Northern California. The ideal candidate is an experienced environmental planner who can independently manage projects from scope through completion while providing technical leadership and mentoring to staff.

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is a full-service environmental consulting firm serving clients throughout California and adjoining states. Our multidisciplinary teams provide environmental planning, biological and cultural resources services, GIS analysis, water resources support, and habitat restoration services for public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage the preparation of CEQA and NEPA environmental documents
• Manage complex, multidisciplinary environmental planning projects
• Coordinate with ECORP biologists, archaeologists, paleontologists, air and noise specialists, environmental planners, and other technical staff
• Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects
• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, staffing, invoicing, and deliverables
• Provide strategic guidance regarding CEQA, NEPA, CEQA-Plus, and other environmental compliance requirements
• Coordinate with public agencies, consultants, technical specialists, and project stakeholders
• Review technical documents and environmental analyses for quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance
• Train and mentor junior and mid-level staff on CEQA and NEPA processes and project management practices
• Identify business development opportunities, prepare proposals and scopes of work, and build and maintain client relationships

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of professional CEQA experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing multidisciplinary environmental projects
• Strong working knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, CEQA-Plus, and Caltrans environmental requirements
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships
• Strong technical writing, document review, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated judgment and confidence in addressing complex CEQA and environmental compliance issues
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent experience successfully managing projects for Northern California cities, counties, infrastructure agencies, resource agencies, and/or private developers
• Experience managing complex CEQA and NEPA documents from project initiation through completion
• Established relationships with Northern California public agencies, clients, or industry partners
• Experience supporting proposal development, client development, and other business development activities

Compensation:

This is a full-time salaried position with a base annual salary range of $90,000 to $170,000.

Starting compensation is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications and permits, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. ECORP strives to hire applicants at a level within the stated pay range commensurate with their directly applicable experience, education, and qualifications, while maintaining opportunities for career growth and advancement.

A hybrid work schedule is available. Regular in-office presence, project site visits, and client meetings are also part of this position.
