Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Planning, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, grant development, environmental consulting, or a related field.
  • Proven success obtaining and managing local, state, and federal permits and coordinating regulatory review processes.
  • Experience managing grant-funded programs and/or preparing successful grant applications.
  • Regulatory permitting experience involving environmental compliance requirements and agency coordination.
  • Experience reviewing engineering, architectural, or construction plans.
  • Demonstrated project coordination, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, review, and submit competitive grant applications and documentation while ensuring sponsor compliance.
  • Manage grant administration activities from application through award and post-award reporting, tracking milestones and program metrics.
  • Lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for coastal and waterfront projects (docks, marinas, shoreline, stormwater, restoration).
  • Prepare and coordinate permit applications and regulatory approvals across project lifecycles.
  • Conduct environmental analyses and documentation (NEPA, EIS, EA, Biological Assessments, reports, field observations).
  • Identify and pursue federal, state, and private funding opportunities for infrastructure, maritime, transportation, energy, and community programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and funding strategy support to municipalities, agencies, and project teams.
  • Build relationships with regulatory agencies, funding organizations, clients, officials, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate environmental investigations, fieldwork, and multidisciplinary teams for project delivery.
  • Prepare reports, implementation plans, communications, RFQ/RFP responses for clients.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and industry trends to ensure compliance and identify opportunities.
  • Support planning, workload coordination, procurement activities, and contract administration as needed.
