Job summary

Merjent, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Consultant to support energy infrastructure projects in the Little Rock, Arkansas area. The role focuses on environmental permitting and compliance, including permit acquisition, field surveys, reviews, and fieldwork for construction and operation.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and will travel 40–50% to project sites, often outdoors. This full-time position offers bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field.
  • 3–4 years of environmental field work and/or permitting experience.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally up to 40–50%.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental review, permitting and compliance tasks for energy clients (natural gas pipelines and electric transmission).
  • Support analyses of environmental impacts to aid development of project-specific applications.
  • Conduct environmental field tasks and reporting.
  • Perform biological/wetland field surveys and stormwater inspections as needed.
  • Assist with document production and technical editing of detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to uphold Merjent's standards.
