Job summary

Environmental Resources Management-Southeast, Inc. seeks a Principal Consultant, Environmental FERC Project Manager to lead complex energy-project permitting and compliance efforts in the United States.

The role centers on FERC-regulated projects, with a focus on natural gas and LNG developments and related environmental reviews. The successful candidate will manage multi-site initiatives, supervise cross-disciplinary teams, and foster client relationships while contributing to business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related natural resources science field.
  • Prior consulting experience is required.
  • 6+ years (10 years preferred) of environmental impact assessment and natural resources permitting experience on FERC-regulated projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing the permitting of large natural gas and LNG projects, including oversight of complex FERC applications.
  • Working knowledge of key natural resource regulations, including NEPA, CWA Sec 404, Rivers and Harbors Act Sec 10, NHPA Sec 106, and ESA Sec 7.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local permitting.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite software.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and prepare concise and accurate technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large and complex projects, either single or multi-site, on time and to budget including scope, budgeting, resourcing, planning, and risk management.
  • Act as client point of contact, lead an inter-disciplinary team for environmental impact assessment and regulatory permitting.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently across the U.S., including natural gas and LNG capital development and related energy projects.
  • Generate technical proposals, identify new leads, and participate in business development with existing clients.
  • Lead strategic meetings with regulatory agencies to address regulatory and/or legislative requirements.
  • Engage with key regulatory agencies including FERC, USFWS, USACE, NMFS, EPA, and State Historic Preservation Offices.
  • Contribute technical and project management expertise on environmental assessments and quality control.
