Pace is seeking a Scientist 1 in Pittsburgh, PA to join our environmental testing laboratory. The role involves hands-on analysis of water and bacterial samples, using established microbiological methods and instruments like MALDI-ToF.

You will document observations and maintain lab records, while ensuring instrument maintenance and calibration. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a science field and 3–6 months of on-the-job training for bacterial culture analysis, with PPE provided.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other science related degrees — or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Candidate will provide documented 3 to 6 months on-the-job training for the set up and/or analysis of bacterial cultures.
• Experience in basic analysis of bacterial cultures in an environmental or clinical laboratory and knowledge of Legionella species or Fungal analysis is a plus.

• Work with instruments such as MALDI-ToF and more.
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis.
• Accurately document observations and results to maintain high-quality laboratory records.
