Republic Services in Michigan is seeking an Environmental Manager to oversee landfill engineering projects, permitting, and regulatory compliance. You will prepare the Landfill budget, manage spending for the Engineering department, and supervise Environmental Technicians.

The role demands strong knowledge of air, water, solid waste regulations, project management, and the ability to coordinate with regulatory agencies, vendors, and investors to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Formación

• Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations relating to air, water, solid waste, and material recovery/recycling.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal communication across org levels and with external parties.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret complex regulatory documents.

Responsabilidades

• Manage landfill cell and site construction planning, scheduling and resource coordination.
• Maintain financial oversight for engineering projects and cost tracking.
• Coordinate permit applications and regulatory interfaces.
• Prepare regulatory notifications and respond to inspections.
• Supervise Environmental Technicians and Specialists, including hiring and mentoring.
• Engage with regulatory bodies and investors as needed.
• Produce monthly soil tracking and other status reports.
