Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for environmental compliance across the enterprise.
  • Develop and implement environmental policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Develop, implement, and audit programs to comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with EPA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies for permitting, inspections, and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives in waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency, and other sustainability efforts.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to site personnel on environmental compliance and new projects.
  • Support the integration of environmental requirements into site operations and new projects.
  • Stay abreast of environmental laws and regulations and advise leadership on potential impacts.
  • Track, analyze, and report key environmental metrics.
  • Partner with plant management to integrate environmental requirements into daily production activities.
  • Lead environmental stewardship efforts aligned with corporate goals and customer expectations.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience related to environmental compliance, including at least 3 years in a multisite capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record in written communication and influencing across all organizational levels.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate responsibility and environmental compliance, including regulations like RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, CERCLA.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Leadership, networking, and influencing skills, with experience working across different business functions and with subject matter experts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% to support sites.
  • Professional certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting and permit renewals.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives.
