Job summary

NRDC, a leading nonprofit environmental organization, seeks an Attorney to join the Litigation Team in one of its U.S. offices, preferably Santa Monica. The role focuses on litigation for NRDC and partners with opportunities to lead record-review cases in federal or state courts.

Candidates should have a JD, bar admission, and 3–8 years of post-law school experience, including active litigation experience. NRDC operates on a hybrid model with salary between $124,000 and $140,000.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Admission to state bar or willingness to complete before/during first year; NRDC covers some bar exam costs.
• 3–8 years post-law school experience; active litigation experience; 4+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Litigate cases for NRDC and partners, lead record-review cases, draft complaints and briefs, conduct legal research.
• Develop oral argument and court-presentation skills with mentor oversight.
• Work in a case team to litigate complex matters including discovery; overseen by a Senior Attorney.
