Job summary

NRDC is seeking an Attorney to join the Litigation Team in one of its U.S. offices, preferably Santa Monica. The role focuses on leading record-review cases and coordinating with partners while advancing environmental law and public interest missions.

The attorney will handle active litigation, contribute to institutional work, and travel 5–15% of time to NRDC offices as needed. A high commitment to public service and equity is essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree.
• Active bar admission or ability to obtain admission before/during first year.
• 3–8 years post-law school experience, including active litigation.

Responsibilities

• Litigate NRDC and partner cases, including record-review, drafts, and negotiations.
• Develop oral argument and court-presentation skills under Senior Attorney supervision.
• Lead and mentor case teams on complex litigation and discovery matters.
• Foster client, co-counsel, and coalition relationships within NRDC and with outside partners.
