Job summary

Direct Counsel seeks a Business Litigation Associate to join its Environmental Litigation team in Denver, Colorado. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience handling complex environmental, regulatory, and commercial litigation.

The role requires navigating federal and state agencies, drafting motions and briefs, and advising clients on environmental laws. A JD from an accredited school and strong advocacy skills are essential; a federal clerkship is preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• 5–7 years of environmental, regulatory, and complex commercial litigation experience.
• Experience before federal and state agencies and courts.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex environmental and regulatory matters.
• Litigate environmental compliance and enforcement actions.
• Appear before federal and state agencies, tribunals, and courts.
• Draft motions, briefs, and regulatory filings.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
• Advise clients on environmental laws and agency requirements.
• Manage discovery and hearings.
• Collaborate with clients and legal teams on high-stakes disputes.
