State of Maine’s Land Use Planning Commission seeks an Environmental Licensing Specialist I to handle routine permitting and compliance tasks in the Northern Region from Ashland. You will review permit applications, enforcement cases, and prepare decision documents with guidance from senior staff.

Some travel within the region and occasional broader assignments are required. The role is a hybrid telework/office position after probation, offering professional growth and a comprehensive state

Qualifications

• Education or experience in environmental science or related field.
• Experience analyzing permits, applications, licenses, and technical information.
• Knowledge of land use planning or zoning preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication and ability to work in a team.
