Job summary

The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry’s Land Use Planning Commission seeks an Environmental Licensing Supervisor to lead licensing and enforcement across multiple regions. You will supervise Environmental Licensing II and III staff and coordinate with leadership to improve processes and service delivery.

This professional role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and excellent communication with the public and other agencies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced education, training, and/or experience in environmental science or a related field.
  • Experience directing, assigning, and appraising work for project teams and drafting complex documents.
  • Experience as a team lead with caseload oversight is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Environmental Licensing II and III staff.
  • Administer the Commission’s permitting, compliance, and enforcement programs.
  • Coordinate with Manager/Director on policy changes.
  • Review staff interpretation of rules for consistency across staff.
  • Oversee complex permitting cases and assist the Enforcement Coordinator.
  • Conduct public meetings and assist with rule-making proceedings, including travel and evening meetings.
  • Maintain regular contact with other State agencies to ensure policy consistency.
