Job summary

Calvert County Government seeks a Land Management Division Chief to lead regulatory planning across floodplain, critical area, forest conservation, land preservation, and historic preservation. The role requires a Master’s degree, three years of supervisory planning experience, and AICP and CFM certifications.

You will supervise a team of planners, coordinate with state and federal agencies, and manage permit reviews, policy development, and interagency collaborations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in planning or related field.
  • Three years of supervisory planning experience.
  • AICP and/or CFM certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of planners to manage floodplain, critical area, forest conservation, and historic preservation.
  • Coordinate with state, federal, and local agencies on FEMA, CA, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and programs for land use and environmental resources.
  • Review development proposals, permits, and subdivision plans.
  • Engage with stakeholders and present plans to communities and boards.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and department goals.
