City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Environmental Lab Technician to perform field sampling and laboratory analyses of water, wastewater, and related environmental samples. The role rotates across five analytical areas and requires independent data collection, test execution, and reporting under supervision.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field and at least one year of lab experience.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related sciences.
• At least one year of laboratory experience, preferably environmental quality control.

Responsabilidades

• Analyzes laboratory samples; calibrates and troubleshoots instruments; prepares reagents and standards
• Performs chemical and/or biological tests resulting in data for monitoring projects and regulatory reporting
• Collects samples from water and wastewater plants and distribution systems
• Performs field testing during sampling and maintains records of test results
• Performs data entry and result calculations
• Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
• Trains new employees on analytical methods and sample preparation
• Prepares daily and monthly reports of plant operating data
• Maintains laboratory cleanliness and equipment; ensures safety procedures are followed
• Assists with proficiency testing to maintain laboratory accreditation
