Job summary

GEL Laboratories, LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking an entry-level Support Technician to receive client samples and inspect for proper containers, temperatures, and preservatives. You will follow procedures to ensure environmental compliance for water, soil, and hazardous waste samples.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work quickly within a team, with flexibility to start early, stay late, or work weekends based on shipments. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Six months of shipping and receiving or related experience.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to properly receive samples.

Responsibilities

• Receives samples from clients and inspecting for proper containers, temperatures, preservatives, etc.
• Completes sample receipt forms based on method requirements and documenting any deviations.
• Communicate issues to Project Managers as they arise.
• Label sample containers and placing in inappropriate storage locations.
• Fill sample bottle requests from clients.
• Assist in sub-contracting of samples to other laboratories.
• Support archiving and staging of samples.
• Demonstrate and supporting GEL core values.
• Conduct tasks that support other operations in the laboratory.
