Job summary

The GEL Group, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician in Charleston, SC. This entry-level role involves receiving samples, inspecting containers, and ensuring proper storage and documentation in a busy laboratory setting.

You will work with a team to meet tight deadlines, following established procedures for sample receipt and handling, while maintaining accuracy and safety in a production environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Six months of shipping and receiving or related experience.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to properly receive samples.
• Exhibits organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receives samples from clients and inspects for proper containers, temperatures, preservatives, etc.
• Completes sample receipt forms based on method requirements and documents deviations.
• Communicate issues to Project Managers as they arise.
• Label sample containers and place in appropriate storage locations.
• Fill sample bottle requests from clients.
• Assist in subcontracting of samples to other laboratories.
• Support archiving and staging of samples.
• Demonstrate and support GEL core values.
• Conduct tasks that support other operations in the laboratory.
