Job summary

GEL Laboratories, LLC in Charleston, SC is hiring a part-time Support Technician to receive client samples and inspect for proper containers, temperatures, and preservatives. You will follow procedures to ensure environmental compliance for water, soil, and hazardous waste samples, while working with a team under tight deadlines.

This entry-level role requires keen attention to detail, the ability to work quickly in a warehouse-like setting, and availability to start early, stay late, or work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Six months shipping and receiving or related experience.
• Associate’s degree (science or lab courses) preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to properly receive samples.

Responsibilities

• Receive samples from clients and inspect containers, temperatures, and preservatives.
• Complete sample receipt forms based on method requirements and document deviations.
• Communicate issues to Project Managers as they arise.
• Label sample containers and place in appropriate storage.
• Fill sample bottle requests from clients.
• Assist in subcontracting samples to other laboratories.
• Support archiving and staging of samples.
• Demonstrate GEL core values and support other lab operations.
