Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Environmental Specialist (Lab) to support the Environmental Test Laboratory’s QA/QC group. You will assist with sample receipt, kit preparation, and maintaining quality procedures while collaborating with project managers and lab teams to ensure accurate testing and timely service.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a science field, lab experience, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, engineering, or a related scientific field preferred.
• Completion of at least 15 semester credit hours in chemistry preferred.
• Prior laboratory experience in environmental or analytical settings is a plus.
• Experience with quality control requirements for analytical methods preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling samples, documentation, and data required.
• Ability to follow technical procedures for analytical testing and QC.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times and identify unsafe conditions, recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced lab environment.
• Assist project managers with sample receipt, including pH checks, labeling, and verifying information.
• Clean and prepare sample containers for testing accuracy.
• Build complete and accurate sample kits for customers and maintain supplies.
• Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues to support operations.
• Collaborate with lab sections to ensure QC processes are followed and quality system integrity.
• Support other lab areas to meet workload demands and maintain service quality.
