Job summary

A leading consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Calera, Alabama, to support the Environmental Test Lab’s QA/QC group. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Key responsibilities include sample preparation, support for QA/QC compliance, and maintaining lab operations. Prior lab experience is preferred and familiarity with OSHA lab safety is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 15 semester hours in Chemistry preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Work safely and proactively identify and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist QC project managers with sample receipt, including sample logging, pH checks, and proper labeling.
• Clean and prepare sample containers and build sample kits.
• Maintain sample supplies and inventory to support lab operations.
• Support QA/QC compliance.
