Job summary

Pace® Analytical Services is seeking a Scientist I to join our environmental testing laboratory in West Virginia. You will conduct hands-on analysis using GC, HPLC, ICP, and related methods to ensure high-quality environmental data supporting community safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a STEM field (or equivalent) and the ability to work in a lab with PPE. Training is provided; typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or STEM; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment, including wearing PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves).
• Training provided for the role.

Responsibilities

• Operate instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and related equipment.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established methods.
• Review and interpret analytical results from sample analysis.
• Document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality records.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
