Job summary

Atlas Atlas is seeking an Environmental Investigation and Remediation Scientist to perform site assessments and prepare technical reports. The role involves field coordination for soil and groundwater work, UST oversight, vendor management, and substantial travel.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS in a science field, 2–6 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with MS Office; AutoCAD and GIS are a plus. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in science-related discipline required.
• 2–6 years of relevant environmental investigation experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with AutoCAD and GIS preferred.
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform Environmental Site Assessments: soil, groundwater sampling, UST oversight, contractor oversight.
• Prepare technical reports: Phase II, UST/LUST-related reports, work plans and proposals.
• Prepare field documents: notes, photographs, figures, logs, etc.
• Communicate project status, findings and recommendations to staff and senior consultants.
• Coordinate with vendors for project execution.
• Local travel 25–75% is expected; occasional out-of-state travel or weekend work.
