Job summary

Atlas seeks an Environmental Investigation and Remediation Scientist to perform environmental site assessments, prepare technical reports, and coordinate field activities. You will assist with soil and groundwater work, UST oversight and vendor relationships in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

The role requires 2-6 years of experience, a BA/BS in a science field, proficiency in MS Office, and willingness to travel 25-75% with potential out-of-state work.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Science Related Discipline is required.
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and GIS is preferred but not required.
  • Licenses/certifications: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental Site Assessments: soil characterization and sampling, groundwater sampling, soil gas sampling, and contractor oversight.
  • Prepare technical reports: field summaries, Phase II Site Investigation, UST/LUST reports, remediation program reports, proposals and work plans.
  • Prepare field documents: notes, forms, photographs, figures, logs, etc.
  • Communicate project task status, findings and recommendations to staff and senior consultants.
  • Coordinate with vendors for project execution.
  • Local travel 25-75% is expected; occasional out-of-state or weekend work may be required.
