Job summary

Nakupuna Services is seeking a full-time Environmental Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support DoWEA Pacific Region. The role focuses on environmental health leadership, AHERA compliance, and regulatory guidance for facilities across multiple installations.

Responsibilities include responding to environmental inquiries, conducting onsite testing, and providing expert guidance on asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality, water, and mold issues. Travel to overseas sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or higher in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience investigating environmental health hazards across facilities.
• CIH or CSP certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary SME for DoWEA environmental inquiries on asbestos, lead-based paint, IAQ, water quality and mold hazards.
• Coordinate quarterly Teams meetings with DoWEA Program Manager and AHERA Points of Contact.
• Develop SME briefings on asbestos or environmental health topics for quarterly meetings.
• Perform annual regulatory reviews and update AHERA-related documents for compliance.
• Develop Asbestos Abatement Specifications and review project design or SOW for renovations.
