Job summary

Bowie State University is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs across the university. The role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and serves as a liaison with regulatory agencies and risk management providers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental health, occupational health, and safety regulations and strategies.
• Experience with project management and tracking tools.
• Experience coordinating and/or facilitating trainings for the campus community.
• Experience overseeing OSHA regulatory compliance and loss control concepts.
• General OSHA 10/OSHA 30 or other safety certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental health, occupational health, safety, and compliance programs to meet regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with federal, state, and local agencies and university risk management entities.
• Oversee inspections, evaluations, and advisement for facilities, equipment, and processes.
• Coordinate trainings, meetings, and communications related to compliance efforts.
• Lead emergency management response planning and drills; participate in investigations.
