GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager will oversee administrative tasks related to the EH&S programs at the Richmond, CA Fulfillment Facility. Responsibilities include maintaining a proactive safety culture, developing safety reports, enforcing preventive measures, conducting audits, and ensuring proper training documentation. The role requires professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive approach to safety.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage safety-related functions, including claims, data, and documentation
• Handle Worker’s Compensation activities
• Oversee site security operations
• Provide EH&S training on policies, regulations, and procedures
• Inspect and verify compliance with safety regulations
• Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections, and implement corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records according to guidelines
• Analyze incident reports and injury data to improve safety
• Create, maintain, and train on safety best practices

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Skills and Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in Risk Management, Health and Safety, or Site Security in a medium to large employer; relevant certifications or education are a plus
• Proficiency in preparing reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and managing priorities
• Experience preparing agendas, SOPs, SSOPs, and meeting minutes
• Computer proficiency and strong organizational skills
• Extensive knowledge of workplace safety regulations and Workers’ Compensation, especially in food manufacturing environments

Experience / Education

• Experience in a startup manufacturing, service, or chilled environment is preferred
