Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

ProFusion Industries, a highly regarded provider of transit step treads and transit flooring, custom specialty film products and protective linings is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at its ISO 9000 certified Marietta, Ohio manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all aspects of the facility’s compliance with occupational and environmental laws and regulations. This responsibility includes planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs to assure the highest possible degree of employee safety and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee and review EHS programs and ensure that all federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed.

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits.

• Facilitate the incident investigation process and manage Worker’s Compensation cases.

• Comply with all environmental and OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.

• Perform timely program audits for the various EHS programs that require periodic audits and reviews (HAZCOM, Lead Program, Asbestos O&M Plan, etc.).

• Lead the Company/Union Safety Committee and Company/Union safety walks.

• Conduct new hire safety orientations and provide monthly and annual safety training to all employees.

• Manage hazardous waste, wastewater and universal waste management programs and revise these programs as needed.

• Conduct daily, monthly and annual inspections and tests on equipment such as nuclear devices, ventilation hoods, fire systems, fall protection, AED, etc.

• Collect timely samples for environmental testing.

• Develop and maintain controls for identified hazards, evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system and recommend changes as needed.

• Purchase environmental and safety supplies, products or training items as required.

• Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements.

• Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a safety-related field.

• Minimum three (3) years’ relevant EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Certified safety professional (CSP) designation preferred.

• First Aid/CPR certification.

• Worker’s Compensation case management and OSHA recordkeeping experience.

• Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.

• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills.

• Excellent people and process management skills.

• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in emergency situations.

• Ability to enthusiastically deliver effectively training to all levels within the organization.
