Job summary

Interfor is offering an Environmental, Health & Safety Intern position in Longview, WA. The role is on-site with an anticipated May start and a 4- to 8-month duration.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals to learn EHS practices that support people and operations. Responsibilities include supporting EHS initiatives, performing inspections and hazard assessments, and helping analyze data to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; SQL or Tableau is a plus.
• Comfort with analyzing information and organizing findings into documentation.
• Curious, detail-oriented and able to ask questions to understand risks and processes.

Responsibilities

• Support EHS initiatives across a manufacturing operation.
• Assist with inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance activities.
• Review and analyze safety or environmental data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Help develop or update procedures, training materials, and EHS documentation.
• Contribute to project work by reviewing requirements and identifying gaps.

What You’ll Do

• Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across a manufacturing operation.

• You are enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health.
