Job summary

Jabil is seeking an EHS Technician to support a new factory startup in Prince George, VA, onsite. You will help build the operations and onboarding plans, set up processes, and create the documentation from the ground up for large-scale manufacturing.

The role requires performing assessments, training, reporting, and program oversight to meet environmental and safety regulations while coordinating with teams across the site.

Qualifications

• Requires 0-2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Strong communication skills are essential for safety training and reporting.
• Proficiency with data reporting and document updates.

Responsibilities

• Utilize various software programs for updating and creating documentation.
• Maintain SDS/Hazcom records and accident reports.
• Provide environmental and safety training to staff.
• Prepare reports for agencies and internal documentation.
• Maintain documentation records required by agencies.
• Oversee PPE program and workstation audits.
• Assist in developing new programs and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement of the EHS department.
• Assist in Emergency Response Program reviews.

This role is onsite and will work a rotating 12 hr day shift 5am-5pm: Wednesday-Saturday Week 1/Thursday- Saturday Week 2

This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up. Site to include: panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High Power Electronic assemblies.

How will you make an impact?

The EHS Technician will perform necessary assessments, inventories, and inspections for various environmental and safety regulations.

What will you do?

• Utilize various software programs for performing updates to existing documents and creating new documentation.
• Maintain data pertaining to SDS or Hazcom, Accident Reports, and corrective action.
• Assist or provide specialized training classes pertaining to environmental and/or safety-related subjects to various personnel within the company.
• Prepare various reports for agencies and internal documentation.
• Maintain files and documentation records as required by various agencies.
• Control and oversee the Personal Protective Equipment program.
• Assist in developing new programs and procedures as needed.
• Work within established guidelines for the continual improvement of the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
• Oversee the Ergonomics Program and conduct workstation audits.
• Oversee the Fire Suppression and Extinguisher Inspection Program.
• Assist in reviewing and participating in the Emergency Response Program.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education

• High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor's in EHS or a related discipline is preferred (or at least in the midst of obtaining a related degree).

Experience

• 0-2+ years experience in an EHS role within a Manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills (for building reports) including EHSIP and other programs.

The hourly pay range for this role is $23.89 - $43.03. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
