Job summary

Jabil is hiring an EHS Technician to support a new factory startup in Prince George, VA. The role is onsite with a rotating 12-hour day shift (5am-5pm) spanning Wednesday-Saturday Week 1 and Thursday-Saturday Week 2, contributing to building operations and safety programs.

You will perform environmental health and safety tasks, maintain SDS/HazCom data, and prepare agency reports while training staff and developing new procedures as the company scales its manufacturing footprint.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in EHS or related discipline preferred.
• 0-2+ years experience in an EHS role within a Manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills for building reports including EHSIP.

Responsibilities

• Utilize various software programs for updates to documents.
• Maintain data pertaining to SDS or HazCom, Accident Reports, and corrective action.
• Assist or provide specialized training classes pertaining to environmental and/or safety-related subjects to various personnel within the company.
• Prepare various reports for agencies and internal documentation.
• Maintain files and documentation records as required by various agencies.
• Control and oversee the Personal Protective Equipment program.
• Assist in developing new programs and procedures as needed.
• Work within established guidelines for the continual improvement of the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
• Oversee the Ergonomics Program and conduct workstation audits.
• Oversee the Fire Suppression and Extinguisher Inspection Program.
• Assist in reviewing and participating in the Emergency Response Program.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
