Job summary

Jabil in Prince George, VA is launching a new manufacturing facility to support a startup of large form-factor equipment. You will coordinate the Facilities Support Team, oversee building systems maintenance, and help create the process flow and work instructions from the ground up.

On-site role with shift 6am–2:30pm, responsible for training, materials management, and cost-conscious operations while liaising with vendors and internal customers to ensure safety and compliance during the startup

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; four to six years’ experience in maintenance field.
  • Skills: Plumbing skills Electrical skills Mechanical tooling (hand tools and power tools)
  • Preferred Skills: Rigging and crane knowledge CAD interpretation, reading or manipulation

Responsibilities

  • Develop, motivate and challenge all Facilities Support Team Members to perform to their full potential through direct and timely formal and informal feedback.
  • Ascertain materials required for assigned projects and ensure timely requests for the purchase of those materials.
  • Minimize over ordering, to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure Facilities Support Team Members are thoroughly trained, certified and are performing their assigned functions.
  • Inform or instruct Facilities Support Team Members of any deviations or changes.
  • Ensure that assigned work areas are kept clean and organized in order to minimize hazards.
  • Perform electrical, painting, and/or carpentry repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises.
  • Oversee installation, relocation and reinstallation of new and/or existing equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair production support air compressors, air dryers, HVAC equipment such as Chillers, AHU’s and cooling towers, and vacuum systems.
  • Perform simple engineering calculations for proposed new equipment.
  • Update mechanical prints when changes mandate.
  • Support production staff when equipment moves or new installations are required.
  • Maintain all air conditioning and ventilation equipment within manufacturer specifications.
  • Submit proposals and recommendations to department supervisor for upgrades or changes.
  • Maintain maintenance records for each piece of equipment responsible for.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required.
  • Act as a liaison for the Facilities Department with internal customers and vendors.
  • Follow Preventive Maintenance Instructions and ensure that the records for such are properly documented.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up.

Key Skills
  • panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High Power Electronic assemblies.

Shift: 6am - 2:30pm M-F

SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, coordinates daily activities of Facilities Support team members and oversees moderately complex maintenance on a wide variety of building and facility equipment, fixtures, and systems.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this role is $21.73 - $39.13. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
