Job summary

Aertssen Logistics USA, Inc. is seeking an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety and environmental compliance at our Rincon, GA location.

This on-site role focuses on developing policies, training, and incident investigations to keep operations safe and compliant with OSHA and DOT requirements. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in EHS within logistics or industrial settings, holds OSHA certification, and is willing to travel domestically up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s degree desirable).
• 3–5 years of experience in EHS management within logistics, warehouse, or industrial environments.
• Valid OSHA Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, training programs, and PPE compliance.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and track corrective measures.
• Coordinate emergency response plans, safety drills, and first-aid readiness.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulations.
• Maintain Emergency Response Plan and conduct table-top and tests.
• Conduct weekly safety walks with Operational Team Leads and document findings.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Health

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, training programs, and compliance with PPE requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and track corrective measures.
• Coordinate emergency response plans, safety drills, and first-aid readiness.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
• Stop operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
• Responsible for the facility's Emergency Response Plan and the conducting of table-tops and tests.
• Conduct weekly safety walks along with the Operational Team Leads; document findings and drive improvement until completion.
• Initiate Safety Awareness programs in close collaboration with the HQ in Europe.
• Monitor environmental aspects and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Maintain records of hazardous waste discharge and employee exposure.
• Collaborate with sustainability teams to achieve environmental goals.

Training & Engagement

• Prepare and deliver training on workplace safety, emergency procedures, and environmental awareness.
• Conduct employee standup meetings and safety introductions for new hires.
• Promote employee engagement through campaigns, meetings, and recognition programs.
• Responsible for the safety induction of contractors.

Advisory & Reporting

• Advise leadership and operational teams on EHS matters.
• Participate in safety committees and direct management reviews.
• Collaborate with the EHS team at Aertssen Belgium to benchmark and share best practices to foster a culture of EHS at the group level.
• Develop and maintain safety and environmental performance metrics and KPIs.
• Ensure completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.

Qualifications & Work Conditions

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s degree desirable).
• 3–5 years of experience in EHS management within logistics, warehouse, or industrial environments.
• Valid OSHA Certification required.
• Domestic travel (up to 50%) throughout facilities to conduct safety inspections.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, in addition to walking long distances through company warehouses.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs and climb up, under, around, and over large equipment; comfortable working in small, confined spaces, and at heights of 30 to 50 feet in a non-climate-controlled environment.

The essential functions of this position include the operation of heavy machinery, construction equipment, powered industrial trucks (including forklifts), or the supervision of employees performing such duties.
