Job summary

Blue Signal Search is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead workplace safety and environmental initiatives across highly technical, continuously operating facilities. This role emphasizes strengthening safety programs, improving compliance, and maintaining reliable operations.

You will collaborate with engineering, facilities, construction, and operations teams to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, with occasional travel to support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years supporting environmental, health, and safety programs in industrial settings.
  • Experience with regulated operational environments and incident prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee EHS initiatives while maintaining compliance with management systems and company objectives.
  • Support safety programs and ongoing operational improvements across the organization.
  • Review workplace events to determine factors and implement solutions.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training on electrical safety, LOTO, arc flash, confined space, heights, and related topics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate work practices and safety processes daily.
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and reporting.
  • Lead activities to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with project teams to integrate EHS into upgrades, maintenance, and new construction.
  • Help oversee readiness programs and effective response to workplace events.
  • Collaborate with contractors to promote safe practices across environments.
  • Participate in domestic and occasional international travel as needed.

Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead workplace safety and environmental initiatives supporting highly technical, continuously operating facilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee environmental, health, and safety initiatives while helping maintain compliance with established management systems and company objectives.
  • Support programs focused on workplace safety, issue resolution, and ongoing operational improvements across the organization.
  • Review workplace events, determine contributing factors, and help implement solutions that support ongoing operational improvements.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs covering electrical safety, lockout tagout, arc flash awareness, confined space, working at heights, and related workplace safety topics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate work practices, documentation, and safety-related processes that support daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, compliance documentation, and reporting to support organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead activities that help ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory expectations, and operational objectives.
  • Partner with project teams to integrate EHS requirements into facility upgrades, maintenance activities, and new construction efforts.
  • Help oversee programs that promote organizational readiness and effective response to workplace events and operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to promote safe work practices across multiple operational environments.
  • Participate in domestic and occasional international travel as business needs require.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting environmental, health, and safety programs within industrial, technical, or high-availability operational environments.
  • Background overseeing workplace health, safety, and environmental systems within a regulated operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, regulatory requirements, and incident prevention within an industrial environment.
  • Background implementing safety-related programs, evaluating operational practices, and promoting ongoing organizational improvements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence teams across multiple functions.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to make sound technical decisions.
  • Working knowledge of standard business software and office productivity applications.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting mission critical infrastructure or highly regulated industrial environments.
  • Background working alongside consulting engineers, construction teams, and maintenance contractors.
  • Familiarity with emergency preparedness planning and business continuity support.
  • Experience managing multiple projects while balancing operational priorities.
