Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs within our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

The EHS Coordinator serves as the primary resource for safety training, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation coordination, environmental management, and safety program administration.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Management

• Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety programs.
• Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Lead safety committee meetings and track action items.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain OSHA injury and illness logs (300, 300A, and 301 forms).
• Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits.
• Maintain required permits, records, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to management.

Training and Employee Development

• Conduct new employee safety orientation.
• Deliver ongoing safety and compliance training programs.
• Develop and present toolbox talks and safety communications.
• Coordinate forklift, lockout/tagout, PPE, hazard communication, and other required training.
• Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives.

Incident Investigation and Workers' Compensation

• Investigate workplace injuries, near misses, property damage incidents, and safety concerns.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate workers' compensation claims with employees, supervisors, insurance carriers, and medical providers.
• Track incident trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain required incident documentation and reporting.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program and chemical inventory.
• Coordinate hazardous waste management and disposal activities.
• Support environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance efforts.
• Assist with spill prevention and emergency response planning.
• Promote recycling and sustainability initiatives.

Contractor and Visitor Safety

• Coordinate contractor safety orientation and compliance requirements.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure adherence to Company safety policies.
• Maintain contractor insurance certificates and safety documentation.
• Support visitor safety programs and facility safety expectations.
• Coordinate facility emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
• Conduct periodic emergency drills and training exercises.
• Serve as a member of the emergency response team.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and track safety metrics and key performance indicators.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual EHS reports.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support company goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or a related field required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety programs.
• Experience administering workers' compensation claims preferred.
• Experience conducting safety training and incident investigations.

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $70,000 to $80,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company's Annual Incentive Bonus Program with a target bonus opportunity of 10% of base salary.

Bonus payouts are based on Company performance against annual budgeted EBITDA objectives. In the event budgeted performance targets are not achieved, the Board of Directors will determine whether a discretionary bonus payment will be awarded and, if so, the amount of such payment.
