Job summary

Emerson in Sherman, Texas, is seeking a student for a full-time Summer/Fall Co-op in Environmental, Safety and Health. You will review safety programs, perform surveys, and support continuous improvement under supervision.

The role requires enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program, 40-hour weeks, and the ability to work legally in the United States. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with EPA/OSHA regulations are expected.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program.
• Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester.
• Basic understanding of EPA and OSHA regulations, and other regulations applicable to Environmental, Safety and Health, Safety Program Management, Industrial Hygiene, and project management skills.
• Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Summer/Fall Co-op experience in Sherman, TX from January 2027-August 2027.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Safety, Occupational Health, or Safety Engineering, preferably with junior or senior class standing
• Completed coursework in construction safety
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 GPA or higher
• Previous related co-op/intern experience in Safety (corporate or manufacturing environment) or customer service
